Are you planning a trip to Disney theme parks or Universal theme parks and wondering, “What should I pack… and what should I leave at home?”
Before you zip up that suitcase, let’s make sure you’re bringing the right essentials — and skipping the items that could slow you down at the gate. I’ve got you covered with smart packing tips, must-haves, and a few things you definitely don’t want to toss in your bag! 🎢✨
🎒 Park Packing List
Here’s what we always pack for the parks to stay organized, hydrated, and ready for anything! ✨
💧 Refillable Water Bottle
Both Disney and Universal have refill stations, and you can always grab free cups of ice water at quick-service spots. Stay hydrated!
🎢 Backpack (Disney Parks)
Backpacks are welcome at Disney and can go on most rides. A few attractions (like TRON Lightcycle) require lockers, but overall they’re super convenient.
🎡 Fanny Pack (Universal Parks)
Universal is stricter—only small waist packs are allowed on most rides. Anything bigger goes in a locker. Backpacks are fine, just be prepared to store them!
🧳 Packing Cubes
A must for us! They save space and keep everything organized—great for toiletries and preventing spills in your backpack.
🌀 Vacuum-Sealed Bags
Game changer! They save tons of space (hello, souvenir room 🛍️) and often come with a small travel pump. Science magic 😂

🔌 Charging Cords + Portable Chargers
Always pack your cords! Portable chargers (like Fuel Rods) are lifesavers when you’re on the go all day. Nothing worse than a dead phone mid-park 📱
🌧️ Ponchos
A must in Florida! Afternoon rain showers happen often. Better to have one and not need it than the other way around.
🍎 Snack Boxes
Silicone “Lunchable-style” boxes and stackable containers are perfect for DIY snacks. They save money and keep everyone happy between meals!
🧴 Toiletries
Travel-size is best! Think sunscreen, anti-chafe balm, hand sanitizer, mosquito repellent bands, lip balm, deodorant, wipes, toothpaste, etc. Easy to pack in backpacks and perfect for long park days.

💊 Mini Pill Container
Keep a small pill organizer in your bag with essentials you might need—like pain reliever, allergy meds, Gas-X, or Imodium. You never know when a headache or upset stomach might hit, and it’s so much easier to be prepared!

So helpful for keeping track of bags—or even securing on kids (in a shoe, backpack pocket, or special holder). If someone wanders off or a bag gets misplaced, you can quickly locate it. Total peace of mind in busy parks!

Absolute lifesaver in the summer! Just add water, wring them out, and place around your neck for instant relief from the heat. Perfect for long, sunny park days.
🎀 Disney Ear/ Hat Holder
If you’re wearing Mickey or Minnie ears, or a hat with loop, like a baseball hat, an ear holder clip is a must! Easily attach them to your backpack when you’re on rides or need a break—no squishing them in your bag.
🌀 Foldable Electric Fan
A small rechargeable fan is a game changer! Lightweight, easy to pack, and perfect for waiting in lines or during parades. Some even fold up to fit right in your backpack.
